Who We Are
Board of Directors:
Whitney Ross Manzo, Ph.D.
Dr. Manzo currently resides in the Greater Raleigh-Durham area, where she is an Associate Professor of Political Science and the Director of Undergraduate Research at Meredith College.
Dr. Manzo is a freakishly smart political commentator whose political opinions have been showcased on multiple news outlets.
Dr. Manzo was a National Merit Scholar not all that long ago, graduated from the illustrious University of Oklahoma, and her extremely wide breadth of knowledge is such that it has been showcased on Jeopardy!
Tiffany Yecke Brooks, Ph.D.
Dr. Yecke Brooks is an author, editor, and ghostwriter with multiple bestselling books to her credit. She also teaches writing at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Yecke Brooks tends to find herself in rather highly unusual situations, such as accidentally sitting on Amy Tan’s dog and driving the former president of Poland to church. She was a bronze-medalist on Jeopardy!
Melanie Walkers
Melanie is originally from South Africa but currently makes her home in Tennessee. She spent most of her early professional career teaching and in school management. Melanie immigrated to the U.S. in 2019 and has since started a new career in accounting.
Melanie knows a little about American history and culture and thus has not been featured on Jeopardy! but would do very well on a South African quiz show.
Elizabeth A. Harper Null, MD - President
Dr. Null is a registered citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and very proud of this. If you talk to her long enough, she will eventually pepper Native American factoids into the conversation and may even teach you a few words of ᏣᎳᎩ (Tsalagi/Cherokee).
She is currently writing an adventure novel based on Cherokee folklore, but she can’t seem to get her story arc down; she does hope to finish it before she dies.
She is a neurologist and still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up, but in the meantime, she is working tirelessly to make access to education for these girls a reality.
